THE OP TRYOUT PROCESS

Tryouts for the 2018-2019 season are over !

Tryouts for the 2018-2019 season are finished and team practices are in full swing!  Please keep an eye out for our summer programs and let us know if you  have any questions!


STEP 1: FIND YOUR AGE DIVISION


STEP 2: FIND YOUR TRYOUT DATE AND TIME

All tryouts are $20 for those that preregister. Walk up registrants are $30. All registrants receive a tryout shirt. 

Team offers will be out within 24 hours and  all players have 72 hours from receiving offer to accept or decline the PSR Letter of Commitment.

Players and Parents will pay deposit, meet coaches and club staff,  and have their first team meetings on Season Kickoff Night.

STEP 3: COMPLETE PUGET SOUND REGION TRYOUT PROCESS

You will not be able to try out for any clubs without completing this process, which includes obtaining a PSR Tryout Membership and completing medical and concussion forms to bring to tryouts.

STEP 4: REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS

Tryout Registration for All Divisions Opens October 1st at Noon.

STEP 5: ATTEND TRYOUTS!

Arrive early to check in, try on gear, and warm up!

Don't forget your Medical and Concussion Forms from Step 4!


STEP 6: RECEIVE TEAM OFFER

You will receive an PSR Letter of Commitment for a team and you have 72 hours to accept or decline that offer. 

The Puget Sound Region Volleyball website has a "For Parents" section that we encourage families to check out before or during tryouts. It provides a great list of questions to ask about the clubs one is considering.

STEP 7: ATTEND SEASON KICKOFF NIGHT!

OPVBC Signing Days are essentially the "kick off" to the new season, which include a lot of exciting events like: meeting your teammates and coaches, first team pictures, first parent meetings, and choosing your team name! 
They also include paying your deposit and reviewing club manuals.

U12/U13/U14 Season Kickoff = Monday, 11/5 @ 6 pm @ Peace Lutheran

U15/U16/U17/U18 Season Kickoff = Tuesday, 11/27 @ 6 pm Kitsap Pavilion

2018-2019 Club Tryouts

For the 2018-2019 indoor season, OPVBC returns for its 11th season as a non-profit volleyball club!

PSRVB LETTER OF COMMITMENT – NEW THIS SEASON

All clubs will be required to extend offers using the PSRVB Letter of Commitment. Athletes are only allowed to sign one PSRVB Letter of Commitment. This letter is not meant to replace your club’s contract.

SIGNING PROCESS – NEW THIS SEASON

The region will have a single signing process for both incumbents and non-incumbents.

Clubs:

  1. must extended an offer in writing using the PSRVB Letter of Commitment
  2. may extend an offer in writing no earlier than the first day of tryouts
  3. must give the athlete 72-hours to accept or decline the offer
    1. offers may be accepted immediately
    2. offers may be declined immediately
    3. offers may not be rescinded unless the athlete notifies you they have signed with another club OR 72-hours has elapsed

Athletes may:

  1. accept the offer immediately and sign the PSRVB Letter of Commitment
  2. decline the offer immediately
  3. exercise their right to a 72-hour waiting period
  4. NOT complete more than ONE PSRVB Letter of Commitment
