Tryouts and Teams

ARE YOU READY FOR TRYOUTS?!

We recommend reading this helping page from the Puget Sound Region of USA Volleyball in order to prepare yourself for tryouts.

Tryout Information (psrvb.org)

1.) Location - Peace Lutheran School in Bremerton

2.) Check In - You are welcome to check in a half hour prior to your tryout time. You must bring your PSR membership ID card, the medical authorization form, and the SCA/Concussion Acknowledgement form in order to participate.

3.) Team Selection - OP coaches will evaluate during tryouts and convene together to aggregate the scores on physical fitness, coachability, work ethic, skills, positions, perceived potential, etc. and select teams. Offers will be emailed to the email address used to register for tryouts on a Puget Sound Region (PSR) Required Offer Letter form. Per PSR rules, your offer letter is valid for 48 hours, during which it cannot be rescinded. We cannot and will not pressure you into making a decision until your letter expires. You are welcome to accept or decline as soon as you know, but no club in our region is allowed to rescind an offer for 48 hours after it is extended. After 48 hours has passed, you offer expires and we are allowed to offer it to the next ranked person on the list.

We plan to send offers out before the end of the day,!

4.) Season and Practice Schedule - The PSR Staff just released a new draft of the tentative region schedule today, so I am working on updating tentative season tournament schedules for the teams that will be on hand for Sunday and in emails upon offering a spot on the team.

We understand how important it is to have as much consistency with days, times, and locations of practices when possible. I already have almost all of the practice schedules done for the season, except some holiday weeks during which gyms are closed. If practice locations are changed for gym closure or school games, they will still be in a 15-minute radius of your original location.

We anticipate our first practices to start mid to late November (depending on HS programs) and our season goes through mid-May, unless some teams qualify for Nationals. We do build in breaks for Thanksgiving and Winter Holidays (often times practicing 1/week for that week).

5.) Initial Team Meetings and Impact on School Season - Once teams are solidified, we will host a team meeting and signing night (early November), during which you sign your player and parent contracts, pay your deposit, meet your teammates and coaches, decide on your team name, etc. .

We are so excited for Tryouts and we look forward to seeing you all there.
